I’m Willie. Welcome to my little corner of the digital morass…
It’s a little bit of, dare I say, literary and visual self indulgence relating to my forays into the mountains of Japan.
It is an obsession that started near on two decades ago with the Hyakumeizan – Japan’s so-called One Hundred Famous Mountains. I quit my job, dragged my sorry arse off the sofa, abandoned the bright city delights of Osaka and headed for the hills.

In 2025, I completed hiking Japan’s Tokai Nature Trail, a sinuous 1000-mile route between Osaka and Tokyo via backwoods Japan. That adventure is documented visually, on my Youtube channel.
